By having high expectations for your children and teaching them high morals and values, and by setting your standards high as soon as they are born, you can raise your toddler's self esteem immensely.
Parents who don't create a positive and loving but structured household where their toddlers can grow and thrive, cannot expect them to grow up to be loving, empathetic, and unselfish. Parents who can't express to their children that they expect great things from them will most likely raise children who don't believe they can accomplish difficult, worthy goals.

From the day your children are born, make sure you begin teaching them a sense of self-worth. Praise them for their accomplishments, positively discipline them, and set high expectations and standards.
Parents need to stay on top of helping their children feel they're important. If you are a great role model, raising a toddler's self-esteem will be almost effortless. Don't ever underestimate the power of setting a good example.
